Minister of Islamic Affairs, Da’wah and Guidance Sheikh Dr. Abdullatif bin Abdulaziz Al-Sheikh received in his office in Jeddah the High Commissioner for the Alliance of Civilizations, Mr. Miguel Moratinos, in the presence of the Secretary of the King Abdullah Center for Interreligious and Interfaith Dialogue Dr. Faisal Al-Muammar.
Al-Sheikh welcomed the High Commissioner for the Alliance of Civilizations at the United Nations and stressed the Ministry’s keenness to build bridges of understanding and communication with all human cultures.
Minister Al-Sheikh reviewed the Kingdom’s efforts under the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King and the just Imam Salman bin Abdul Aziz and the continuous follow-up of His Highness the Crown Prince Prince Mohammed bin Salman to spread dialogue, coexistence, tolerance and non-violence among peoples.and the fight against terrorism that saudi Arabia suffered first.
Al-Sheikh gave a detailed explanation on the Ministry’s mission and plans and highlighted the various programs and actions that it has carried out locally and internationally with the aim of promoting the concepts of coexistence, moderation, spreading the culture of dialogue and supporting and consolidating the values ​​of peace .
On the other hand, the High Commissioner thanked the reception and expressed his admiration for the Ministry’s experience, projects, programs and initiatives which the Ministry continues to implement to promote a culture of dialogue and promote the values ​​of coexistence, cohesion, tolerance, moderation, and rejection of violence and extremism. .
During the meeting, they discussed means of joint cooperation in promoting and spreading the values ​​of dialogue, tolerance and coexistence between nations and peoples, as well as discussing projects and programs of mutual interest between the two sides
